Live and Optimized: Greenerwave’s RIS Demonstrates Game-Changing 5G Performance
We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our RIS 2.0 journey!
For the first time, our Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) has been fully integrated and successfully operated in real-time within a live O-RAN 5G network operating in FR2.
This pioneering deployment was carried out on EURECOM’s private network in the framework of the SUNRISE-6G project, a key partner and customer.
By intelligently reflecting signals, Greenerwave’s RIS significantly enhances signal strength and quality, even in indoor or confined spaces, offering high performance with minimal power consumption and simple hardware.
A breakthrough solution poised to transform wireless communication!
To support this devemonstration, we developed dedicated tools to capture live network data and leveraged user equipment reporting to dynamically steer the RIS, achieving real-time user optimization, entirely eliminating the need for lab-based instrumentation.
Our team achieved outstanding results:
+17 dB gain in RSRP (Reference Signal Received Power)
+60% increase in downlink data rate
This successful deployment in a real 5G setting demonstrates the maturity and transformative potential of our RIS technology for the telecom industry.
